Attendance
At Radley CE Primary School, we take attendance very seriously as it has a significant impact on your child's education. We have set a target of 96% attendance for the school, as we believe regular attendance is crucial for pupils to reach their full potential and live life in all its fullness, as outlined in our school's vision.
The Importance of Attendance
Our school's vision is rooted in the words of Jesus, who said, "I come to give life - life in all its fullness" (John 10:10). We believe that by providing a rich and fulfilling education, we can help all children develop their talents, explore their interests, and discover their passions. However, this can only be achieved through regular attendance. Irregular attendance can have a detrimental impact on a child's academic progress, social development, and overall well-being.
In line with our school's values of Resilience, Respect, and Relationships, we have a clear attendance policy that we expect all families to follow. Holidays taken during term time will not be approved, as this disrupts a child's learning and can hinder their progress. It can also give a child the impression that school and learning is not important.
We understand that there may be exceptional circumstances where a child needs to be absent from school, and we encourage parents to discuss these with us. However, we will always strive to work with families to ensure that children attend school regularly and on time, as this is essential for their academic and personal development.
Supporting Families
At Radley CE Primary, we recognise that supporting families is a key part of our role. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to speak with your child's class teacher or the school office. We are here to work with you to ensure that your child can thrive and live life in all its fullness.
Remember, regular attendance is not only important for your child's education but also reflects our school's commitment to the well-being and success of all our pupils. Together, we can ensure that every child at Radley CE Primary has the opportunity to flourish and reach their full potential.
