Thames (Y6)

At Radley CE Primary, we are proud to offer a dynamic and enriching learning environment for our Year 6 pupils in Thames Class. Guided by our school's vision of providing a "life in all its fullness," our dedicated teachers, Mr. George Wolstenholme and Miss Jess Peiro, ensures that each child in Thames Class is given the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

Nurturing Growth and Independence

Through our topic-based learning approach, we encourage our pupils to take on greater independence and responsibility, preparing them for the transition to secondary education.

Developing the "Radley R's"

At the heart of our curriculum are the "Radley R's" - Resilience, Respect, Relationships and Responsibility - which align with our school's Christian values and guide our approach to education. In Thames Class, we foster these qualities through a range of engaging activities, from whole-class discussions to individual projects.

Enriching Experiences

To further enrich the learning experience, our pupils in Thames Class have the opportunity to take on school responsibilities, such as being reading ambassadors, worship leaders, eco team members, and ICT monitors. Additionally, they participate in exciting events, including a residential trip in Year 5 or 6, cycling proficiency training, IMPS (Injury Minimization Programme for Schools), and junior citizen visits.

Keeping You Informed

To ensure our parents are kept up-to-date with the happenings in Thames Class, we regularly share updates and photographs in the whole-school newsletter. We value the strong partnership between home and school, and we are committed to providing our families with a warm, family-like atmosphere.
