Safeguarding
At Radley Primary School, we firmly believe that every child has the right to grow and thrive in an environment that is safe, secure, and nurturing. Through our commitment to safeguarding, we aim to create a culture where everyone is aware of their responsibilities in keeping our children safe.
First and foremost, we strongly believe that safeguarding is a shared responsibility. We rely on the partnership between parents, carers, staff, and students to create a culture of vigilance and care. Staff members play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment at school.
They receive regular training and updates on safeguarding practices, ensuring they are well-equipped to identify any signs of concern and take appropriate action. Our proactive staff has a collective responsibility to report any safeguarding issues or concerns they may come across to the safeguarding team. We work closely with various agencies and teams to ensure that we are providing the best possible support for our families. By sharing information and collaborating with external professionals such as social workers, healthcare providers, and local authorities, we can better understand and address the needs of our students and their families.
Our curriculum also plays an integral role in promoting the culture of safeguarding. We place great emphasis on teaching children about online safety and their rights and responsibilities as digital citizens. From the earliest years, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the online world safely.. We also teach them about the importance of speaking up and knowing who to approach when they have concerns about their own safety or the welfare of others.
The designated person for Child Protection in this school is Claire Thomas, the Headteacher, with Jess Peiro, (Deputy Headteacher) Beth Healy (SENCo) and Ollie Kearney (Sports Coach and ASC Leader) as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
